The binary star field is witnessing the dramatic impact of new and future space- and ground-based missions such as CoRoT, Kepler, Pan-Starrs, LSST and others. As active astronomers in the field commence mining these new databases and harvesting important scientific results, this conference assessed the current state of our theoretical understanding, observational capabilities, and common goals among the eclipsing binary, exo-planet and population theory communities.
